WHAT LED THIS SHOPIFY STORE TO EMAIL MARKETING?
For this successful Shopify dropshipping store, email marketing wasn't being used. They felt like their other marketing channels were doing well enough to forego an email marketing strategy, let alone hiring an email marketing service provider. Of course they had the standard Shopify transactional email setup, along with the Shopify Cart Abandonment, but no actual campaigns being sent to past buyers. As their list grew larger and larger, they realized they should probably start doing email marketing and set forth in hiring an email service provider with experience in e-commerce and Shopify.
BUILDING THE EMAIL MARKETING CHANNEL & STRATEGY
This was one of those projects where we essentially started from scratch. We setup new IP addresses, authentication, imported the contacts, created segments, setup lifecycle journeys, created an email cadence and calendar, setup an A/B testing plan, and much more. Once everything was in place, we initiated the IP address and domain warming process, by starting to send mail slowly and ramp up over time. After a solid warming process, the email marketing program was ready to fire on all cylinders and we commenced the official start of the email marketing calendar.

Now, the Shopify store's email strategy primarily revolves around their main newsletter, which merchandises new products for the week and any current deals. They describe it as “curated merchandise at an affordable price” At this point, over 170,000 people have opted-in to receiving the newsletter and other emails.
In addition to the newsletter, we were able to setup a variety of lifecycle and triggered emails that drive conversion.

EMAIL MARKETING RESULTS
We were able to develop a fully functional email marketing program with all the bells and whistles. The average open and click rates for the newsletter is 26% and 2.8%. Triggered emails have a 52% average open rate and 16% average click rate.
